Brad Faxon and Billy Andrade, PGA TOUR professionals and co-hosts of the CVS Caremark Charity Classic, today unveiled the 2010 tournament field.
Set for June 27-29 at Rhode Island Country Club, the tournament brings together 20 elite PGA TOUR and LPGA Tour professionals.
The 2010 tournament boasts an impressive roster of world-class golfers, including several newcomers.
New to the field this year are 2010 Waste Management Phoenix Open winner Hunter Mahan, PGA TOUR wunderkind Rickie Fowler and LPGA pro Suzann Pettersen.
Pettersen has posted top 10 finishes in three out of her four starts this season while Fowler has three top 10 finishes, including placing second to Mahan at the 2010 Phoenix Open.
Building on the tournament’s history of showcasing top LPGA stars, Juli Inkster and Morgan Pressel return to the Rhode Island Country Club this year. Also returning is fan favorite Camilo Villegas, who missed last year’s tournament as a result of weather delays at the U.S. Open.
Back to defend their title will be 2009 tournament champions Nick Price and David Toms.
Brett Quigley, who along with co-hosts Andrade and Faxon will be making their 11th straight appearances, has committed to play, as well as tournament veteran Peter Jacobsen.
“The CVS Caremark Charity Classic is a world-class event featuring some of golf’s best players who come together to support the vital work of our non profit partners across the region,” said Eileen Howard Dunn, Tournament Chairwoman, CVS Caremark Charity Classic. “We are proud to have given back more than $13 million to hundreds of worthwhile charities and look forward to another successful year.”
